[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Suddenly, there’s an influx of lip liners from all sorts of brands. The latest is Kosas Hotliner who have 8 shades of creamy liners infused with hyaluronic acid – the big sell for me is that the liners have a built-in brush for perfecting and blending as well as a little sharpener. Very handy.

I also like that they’ve actually considered lip tones in this collection – you can have very pale or very deep natural lip colour and still find something from the eight that will be right for you.

I am really enjoying the very simple lip liner with gloss or oil only that’s all over Instagram just now. It’s such a flattering look that defines and amplifies your lips with only the most simple colours. To do it, you only need line your lips, use the brush to blend and diffuse the liner slightly upwards, then add oil or gloss and that’s you done! You can, of course, use any full colour you please – the minimal liner look is just a trend.

In this picture, I’ve used Infinite lipliner with Bare Lip Oil – just a very wearable lip look that’s completely in seconds. In theory, the addition of the hyaluronic acid, combined with Konjac root, could give your lips a volume boost but I think it’s highly unlikely – don’t buy this in the hopes of fuller lips but do buy this because they’ve thought of everything – a sharpener and a brush cleverly concealed one inside another at the end of the liner.

From bottom to top: Epic, Extra, 100, Infinite, Supreme, Max, Beyond and Mega. Don’t forget that if the weather is hot, any soft liner – lip or eye – should be kept somewhere cool (i.e. the fridge). These modern formulas are so soft because they contain a lot of oil so if they get too warm you’ll get far more than you bargained for when you next apply.

I’ve gone a bit bolder in colour this time using Extra as the liner and a clear lip balm to blend it in a bit. You can go harder on the blend for more of an ombre effect. Whichever way you choose to wear your lip liner, they’re 100% back in the make up picture. Kosas liners are £19 each HERE.
